Damian's head shot up as he registered the pull of dark magic issuing from somewhere close by and then the sound of something hitting the floor caught his attention. Whatever the thing was...it certainly hadn't been very nice and that worried him to some extent. "What the hell was-" He broke off as he moved towards where he could feel it lying on the floor. He cautiously reached a hand towards it and tentatively scanned it with his magic. The ring had been created to keep his sister in line...and from what he could pick up on it might have done the job a little too well. "Fuck." He snarled as he yanked his hand back and then pointed his finger down at it...moments later it burst into flames. "Whatever that was...it's why you're in pain. You...you just lost a child Morgana." He said carefully as he shifted in her direction. His hand moved to start healing her once again, at the same time giving her a fresh change of clothes. "I am...I am so sorry." He said quietly and moved to kiss her on the cheek, only he missed and kissed her on the lips.

Morgana blinked as Damian seemed to be drawn to the ring, though he never touched it. Her gaze moved down to the burn mark that circled her finger and her heart sank. It must have been enchanted...Her father had warned her about such objects. How had she not known? She had studied magical artifacts her whole life...she had been so blinded by her fear that she never noticed. Though when Damian told her what had happened, what had caused her to suddenly be ill like that, she stared at him in disbelief. "I was...pregnant?" She whispered and looked down towards her stomach, her hand lightly grazing the skin there that poked out of the bottom of her shirt. Morgana hadn't even noticed any signs of pregnancy. That could only mean she hadn't been that far along but...knowing that she had just lost a child, even if it was Derek's child, it hurt her heart. Morgana suddenly felt Damian's lips on hers but she didn't pull back. She kissed him back, her hand moving to gently rest against his arm. A small tear slowly slid down her cheek as they kissed before Morgana finally pulled away and leaned her forehead against his. "How can I be upset..when I never knew?" She whispered, though her voice betrayed her as she tried to hold back her tears. "That bastard knew...he knew this whole time that you were alive and he never told me. He planned for when you'd come for me..." Morgana shook her head and slowly sat up, pushing herself to the side of the bed. She was silent for a moment before she slid her hand into his. "Take me away from here Damian...please..." Another tear fell from her face and landed on Damian's hand. It was her duty to stay and be future queen of the kingdom but she didn't care anymore. This place was full of so much hurt. She needed a break from it, even if it was just for a little while.

Damian slowly realized what he was doing and immediately pulled back more confused then ever. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-" He broke off with an ashamed look. At her other words he tenderly slid a hand to cup her face, "Because you love your family...and that child was a part of you." He gently pointed out before he tightened his hand into a fist at her words. It didn't surprise him that Derek might have planned to have him come back...he could almost hear him. Just like he could hear his father at certain times, but he didn't want his sister to worry. As she slid her hand into his he froze and then gently squeezed her hand. "You'd be leaving your family again...I thought you'd want to stay with them." He quietly admitted. It was still hard for him to admit that he was related to her, mostly because he still felt...evil. How could he possibly be related to someone who was so pure? It made absolutely zero sense, and as much as he wanted to believe it he couldn't.

Morgana looked away from him, knowing that he was right. Though the past few months had been hell and she couldn't even think about facing her parents right now. If they knew everything Derek had done, they would blame themselves and she didn't want that. They didn't deserve that. After a moment, Morgana shook her head and thoughtfully ran her thumb along Damian's hand. "I know I'll be leaving them again...but I can't be here anymore. At least not right now. I think they'll understand but I just need to be away right now." Morgana knew her parents would be worried but as long as she left them a note, they wouldn't think she was in trouble. Though how she was going to explain Derek's absence, she had no idea. Damian wasn't ready for them to know about him and she owed him his privacy.

Damian's head turned towards Morgana, she was fast asleep and he hadn't wanted to disturb her. It had been five months since they had left her Kingdom, and Damian had let her stay with him. His home was small, compared to the Palace she had grown up in and Damian silently wished he could do more for her. She deserved to be treated like a Queen and he was unable too, even worse he kept having nightmares. They were so realistic that he had started giving Morgana more space then usual. He hated it because she didn't know his current predicament. How could she? He was afraid that he was turning insane...some nights he woke up believing he was someone else. More specifically the two people he had killed...whatever his power had done they now resided in his head. Or at least a part of them did and he could hear them constantly. The things they wanted him to do to Morgana worried him...he'd never be able to forgive himself if he hurt her. Once she woke up, he'd insist that she go back home...the last thing he wanted was to put her life in jeopardy.

Morgana had been staying with Damian ever since that night. It was a simpler way of life...and she loved it. She had to do everything herself and she didn't mind one bit. It was so refreshing to not be ordered around and not have an escort everywhere. Though there were some nights that she still had nightmares about it all. They had died down a considerable amount but tonight she was having another one. Derek was standing over Damian's body, a blade in his hand covered in fresh blood. Morgana's body shivered as she slept and she whimpered, burying her face in her pillow. Derek was advancing on her and Morgana backed away from him, tears filling her eyes as she stared at Damian's lifeless body. Morgana's body shifted on the bed and she rolled over so she was facing Damian. Her arms slid around his form as she pulled herself close to him and buried her face in his chest. The moment she could hear his heartbeat, her nightmares faded away and her whole body relaxed again. She slept that way for about another hour before her body told her it was time to wake up. A yawn came past her lips and she snuggled into Damian. As she came to her senses, Morgana felt a warm body beneath her and she looked up to see Damian. Her cheeks flushed and she slowly pulled back from him, brushing a loose strand of hair out of her face. "Um..g-good morning. I'm sorry, you could have woken me up." She whispered before she sat up and ran her fingers through her hair. Today marked five months since Damian had saved her and it had taken some time but she had a surprise for him that she planned to show him later that day.

Damian slowly smiled as he registered Morgana finally waking up next to him, although she seemed to be more then a little flustered. "You seemed peaceful...besides I can hardly blame you for wanting to sleep." He said gently as he leaned down and pressed a tender kiss on her forehead. Those sweet moments had become more frequent and Damian was still trying to sort his thoughts on the matter. "We should talk later today...I have a few things I need to discuss with you." He said slightly uncomfortably. He didn't want to make her upset by telling her all about the terrible dreams he had been having. That was the last thing she needed and he had no right...she was finally happy and she deserved to be happy after everything.

Morgana glanced back at Damian as she started to braid her hair and she nodded. "Sure. Though I have a surprise for you today." She grinned before she slid out of the bed and moved towards the window. The original plan had been to wait until dinner but she was so excited that she wanted to show him now. She opened the window and whistled out a special tune. A few moments later, a falcon flew into the room and landed on her shoulder. Morgana giggled before she moved back towards the bed and climbed in front of Damian. "I was going to wait but I'm just too excited. I know it's not Horus but...I wanted to thank you. I named him Aiden. He's a silver-wing...like Horus was." Morgana reached down and took Damian's hand, leading it up to her shoulder so he could feel Aiden's feathers. "After you brought me here, I started looking into this and I found him. He had been hanging around your house it seems so he already knows a little bit about you. It's my fault Horus is gone and I know it won't be the same but I didn't want you to be lonely." She whispered as she looked at the bird thoughtfully. Aiden let out a happy sound and rubbed his head against hers before he hopped down and moved into Damian's lap.

Damian frowned when he heard Morgana call out, moments later he heard the sound of wing beats. Something landed on his lap, he was familiar enough with the weight to know that this was no mere bird. He was so shocked by what she was saying that he sat there dumbly for a few moments. "You...you trained a falcon for me?" He asked quietly as he let his hand gently glide over the bird's feathers. Of all the things he could have expected this wasn't it, "I don't blame you for what happened to Horus." He said seriously. "I....I really don't know what to say except thank you." He said seriously and leaned forward kissing her on the lips, not seeming to realize that he may have gone a little far by doing so.

Morgana bit her lips as Damian ran his fingers over the bird. She hoped that it would have been a good present. After all, he had taken care of her for the past five months and saved her life countless times. It almost didn't feel like enough to repay him. Suddenly Damian leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers in an unexpected kiss. Morgana was caught off guard but after a moment, she kissed him back, her hand gently resting on his leg and she leaned into him. They hadn't kissed once in the past five months and Morgana had missed it....His lips were so different than Derek's. Damian was gentle...caring. Her heart skipped every time he spoke to her. The strap of her night dress slid down her shoulder as they kissed and if Damian could see, he would have noticed the amount of cleavage the fabric had uncovered. If anyone had walked in, they probably would have assumed the two were lovers...Morgana's body was close to his, her chest only inches from Damian's as they kissed. The past few months had been a roller coaster of emotion. Morgana wasn't even sure of what her feelings towards Damian were anymore. All she wanted was to be with him...to kiss him like this. Maybe she was to the point of loving him more than she should...she didn't know.

Derek groaned as her hand rested lightly on his leg, her very touch made him crave even more. It seemed like just being with her made him feel perfectly at ease, of course he should have known that wouldn't be the case. Suddenly a vision appeared and he could see himself strangling Morgana, his eyes were black and he was smiling. Letting out a horrified sound he yanked backward, his breath coming out in shaky breaths. "I...I shouldn't have done that." He mumbled, running one hand down his face as he said this. He still couldn't shake the vision of her struggling beneath him, her eyes wide in terror. "You should go...I...I think it's time for you to go home." He said haltingly, hating himself for even saying as much. The last thing he wanted was to have her leave, but he'd never forgive himself if she got hurt because of him even more. "It's not safe for you here, and I...I'm going away." He lied, although now that he thought about it...the more the idea appealed to him.

Morgana's heart sank the moment Damian let out a horrified sound and practically ripped his lips away from hers. Had it been that bad? She looked away from him and nervously pushed the hair out of her face. Her hands shook and she bit her bottom lip. "I'm sorry...that was my fault. I..." Her words stopped at his next words and she didn't speak for a moment. He...He wanted her to leave? Morgana nodded and bit the inside of her cheek. She felt like she was going to cry now...gods how could she have been so stupid. Of course he didn't love her like that. Of course he wouldn't want to stay with her longer than necessary. She nodded and climbed out of the bed, wrapping her arms around herself. "I...ok. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have stayed this long...I'll be gone in a few hours." She whispered and the moment she was done speaking, she turned and moved to dash out of the room. The last thing she wanted was to cry in front of him. Especially after everything. She didn't want to leave but if he asked that of her...she couldn't say no. Morgana wasn't ready to return home yet but maybe it was time to. Maybe she had to face her fate...Damian was such a nice escape that she had never even thought about going back. And now that that escape was gone, her heart felt like it was ripped in half. She could just leave now. It wasn't like she had any clothes here but all she had right now was her nightdress. If Morgana went back in there, she would want to know why. She wouldn't leave until he gave her an answer. She couldn't face him...

Damian hung his head somehow hating himself even more at her words, "That's not why...that's not why I said that...Morgana I love you. I love you in the way that a sibling shouldn't. However I can't endanger you and I'm afraid I already have. The souls I have taken...Jafar and Derek's both...they reside within me. I'm not entirely sure how long I can hold them back before they take over me completely. It'll be safer for you if you leave...believe me I'd much rather have you by my side as long as I possibly could but I can't." He quietly admitted. He wasn't sure if she'd even believe him, he wouldn't blame her if she didn't. "I thought I was saving you, but now I'm afraid I've endangered your life even more." Aiden flew up and then landed on Horus's old perch next to Damian's bed. Damian let out a sad laugh, "Father wants me to kill you and Derek....Derek is the one that scares me the most." Derek was the one who wanted Damian to rape Morgana among other terrible things that Damian didn't want to relay to Morgana.

Morgana froze in the doorway as Damian started to explain, her hand gripping the door frame. His words almost seemed insane. It was like he was trying to drive her away and it just hurt that he would go to that extent. Morgana bit her tongue and moved back into the room, opening the closet as she grabbed one of her few dresses. "You don't have to explain yourself Damian. I'll leave if you want me to leave." She quickly changed into her dress, not even caring that she hadn't quite laced up her corset properly. Aiden leaned to the side of his perch as if he was trying to catch her attention but Morgana ignored him, her thoughts rushing through her head. Morgana flinched when Damian mentioned what Jafar and Derek had wanted to do to her and her muscles tensed. Now he was going too far...to bring either of those men into this...She scoffed and braided her hair hastily behind her back. "Ok. I get it. If you don't want me around, just say it. Don't lie to me and threaten me with those two. I'm not a child. Goodbye Damian." Morgana didn't even wait for him to respond before she left the room, shutting the door behind her so she wouldn't be tempted to stop if he called her. So many emotions were running through her but all she cared about in that moment was getting away.

Damian's heart sank, of course she didn't believe him why would she? "Morgana...I'm not lying-" She didn't stop to listen to him though and instead she just left. "Well why would she believe you anyway? She doesn't truly love you anymore." Damian shook with his eyes closed as he struggled to fight Jafar's presence. Aiden let out a screeching cry and then dove out of the room as Damian's eyes suddenly turned black. The battle Damian had been silently handling for months had turned against his favor and now Jafar was in control of his body. "Time to pay Morgana a little visit I should think." He mumbled before he started to pick up the trail of Morgana, his body dissolving into smoke as he made his way straight to her.
