It was getting closer to Odette's due date and John was more worried then ever as he knew it would only become more difficult. Odette was strong, and a good actress...if it wasn't for the fact that she had to stay in bed so often now John might not have even suspected anything. It disturbed him that she had gotten so used to hiding things from him, and even worse that she was very good at it. He ran a hand through his hair, and glanced over at the bed where Odette lay sleeping. She only was ever able to get a few hours at a time in, as the baby seemed to require more energy then it had when John had first started. When the baby wasn't feeding on his energy, the baby fed off of Odette which was why she was so exhausted. Although John made sure to let the baby feed off of him while Odette slept, the less the baby fed from Odette the better off she'd be. Even though he was beginning to feel more then a little worn himself, if he hadn't been a weredragon he would have been hopeless to even do that much for her. Any day now and Jafar's child would be born, and then he'd know if Odette would make it. She had to make it...life wouldn't be the same without her in it...he already knew that.

Odette shifted in her sleep as the child in her belly started to move around again. Her due date was just around the corner and each day was getting harder and harder. Ever since the night they found out about the child's demon blood, Odette had hardly been out of bed. Whenever she tried, the child would suck all of her energy so within just a few minutes she would be forced to lay down again. John was doing all he could and she knew that. He hardly ever left her side when she tried to sleep...it was all thanks to him that she was even able to sleep at all. Odette felt a hard kick that forced her awake and she groaned, wincing in pain. Then suddenly she felt something wet between her legs and her heart sped up as she felt another kick...or what she thought was a kick. "J-John....I...I think my water just broke." Odette managed to whisper despite how tired she was and a pained cry left her lips as another pain hit her. They weren't kicks...they were contractions. She was in labor.

John shot up in his chair at at Odette's words and whorled around to look over at her with his eyes wide. Water stained the sheets around her and John moved to get to her side, misjudging the distance and tripping as a result. "Right I uh...Aurora!" He practically roared as he got himself back up. A few moments later Aurora appeared in a plume of purple smoke, a robe wrapped around her. Thankfully this one covered more and wasn't as revealing as the towel she had worn before, "She's having contractions!" John said as he rushed towards Odette's side. Aurora moved forward then, "You'll have to remove her undergarments John." She said, having a feeling that Odette would not appreciate having Aurora remove them for her. She moved to wash her hands in a bowl of steaming hot water that she summoned to her side. Once John had carefully removed Odette's undergarments, Aurora moved to check the baby's current position in Odette's stomach. "The baby is upside down...I can try moving it but it'll be painful." She said after a moment. If the child was born upside down, it could become strangled on the way out...and Odette could bleed out. An option Aurora wasn't willing to consider...John was counting on her to save his wife and child and she would.

Odette was too distracted by the pain that she didn't even notice when Aurora appeared and started to help. She didn't remember Moragana's birth being this painful....though Morgana didn't have demon blood pumping through her veins at that time either. It was like this child was born to try and kill her. Maybe that had been Jafar's plan all along. At Aurora's words, Odette nodded her head as her hands gripped the sheets beneath her. "Do whatever you need..." If she lost the child, Odette would never forgive herself. Even if this was Jafar's child, Odette still loved it like she loved Morgana. Suddenly the child began to kick in her belly and Odette jerked, her body breaking into a sweat. The child was already ignoring John's energy and returned to focusing on Odette, an action she felt almost immediately. Nausea filled her as her skin slowly started to pale.

Aurora started moving the baby as gently as she possibly could, a soft healing energy flowing through her fingertips as she did so. The baby was starting to feed from Odette, which was the last thing Odette needed at the moment. Finally the baby had shifted right where it needed to be, and Aurora moved back to where she could take the child out once Odette had fully given birth. "John...towels." She said shortly before she turned to look at Odette, "When those contractions start getting closer together that's when you'll need to start pushing. It'll hurt but you can do it." She said as gently as she was able. Odette would be in a lot of pain, and would no doubt lose quite a bit of blood, all Aurora could hope was that Odette survived the ordeal. She watched as John finally came back with towels that she then used to pad the area around Odette. The towels would be used to catch the blood that would no doubt occur once Odette started pushing.

Once the child was finally in position, Odette released a sigh of relief and collapsed back on the bed. Sweat started to coat her skin and she fought to catch her breath...She hadn't even started pushing yet but she felt so tired. At Aurora's words, she shook her head and whimpered. She couldn't do this...she wasn't strong enough. When Morgana had been born, things had gone smoothly. Odette had been in no danger then..of course back then she had Jafar keeping her alive because of her bargain with him. If he hadn't, maybe she wouldn't have even made it through her first childbirth. After a few moments, Odette started to feel the contractions that told her it was time to push and she grabbed John's hand, squeezing it with all of her strength as she started to push. Blood felt like it was pouring out of her but she tried with all she had for hours. As time passed, her grip on John's hand became weaker and weaker until she barely had anything. Her pushes became weaker as the child fought against her, draining her energy throughout the whole delivery. It was only by some miracle that she was able to deliver the child...but she wasn't left with much. Her skin was pale and cold from the loss of blood and Odette laid back on the bed. She was so tired it was impossible to keep her eyes open. She wanted nothing more than to hold the child but she could feel how far gone she was...maybe she wouldn't be able to come back from this.

John watched with his heart in his mouth, the entire birth was hard for him to watch. Aurora kept him busy but seeing all the blood stained towels made him feel sick to his stomach. Had Jafar still been alive, John would have ensured that he suffered even more. His free hand was clenched in a fist as he stared down at Odette, "You did a wonderful job Odette...I...I need you to stay awake ok hun." John said as he gently squeezed her hand and pressed a kiss on her forehead. She was clammy and his heart hurt even more as he registered this, Aurora had taken the child to be cleaned and wrapped. Now John was doing all he could to heal Odette's injuries but it was becoming increasingly difficult to do so. Mostly because he couldn't take care of the blood loss she had already undergone. "Come on...I can't lose you right now." He said as he stared down at her desperately.

Odette slightly leaned her head against John as he kissed her forehead. She could feel him trying to heal her but it didn't maker her feel much different than before...though it did give her just enough energy to open her eyes even for just a little bit. "The baby...how's the baby?" She whispered as she looked up at him. Her vision kept up a constant rotation between his face being in focus and then everything blurred but she was determined to keep her eyes open. Even if it was just long enough to see her child, she would be okay with that. Eventually the blood flow slowed to a stop, leaving them with no more worry that Odette would bleed out. The only worry left was keeping her alive long enough to recover from the loss. Now that the child was out, Odette couldn't feel it feeding off of her any longer. Though that didn't mean that it wouldn't happen again soon but for now she was at least relieved on that. If it had, there would have been no coming back.

A few years had passed since Odette had given birth and things had definitely improved. Odette was now feeling much better, and things in the Kingdom were improving. John kept his eyes on their two children who were currently playing in the courtyard. He had managed to excuse himself from the throne room in order to spend some time with his family. The moments he did have with them, he cherished and did his best to express that to his family. He still had moments where he became concerned that maybe he would accidentally hurt them. Although Odette certainly helped him whenever he feared that perhaps he wouldn't be able to control himself. At the moment he was in his dragon form, as his kids liked seeing him as one and because seeing a dragon could be intimidating for anyone. He shifted a little bit as he moved to become comfortable, enjoying how much freedom he had as a result.

Odette was watching from a distance as the children played with John, a smile on her lips. He was in his dragon form and Morgana was trying to climb up his back while her son was stumbling around in front of John. His laughter echoed through the courtyard as he laughed at Morgana and it made everything worth it...Even if Damian did have demon blood, she still loved him. He did show signs of holding powers but all they had experienced so far was how he was able to drain energy. Two years ago he had almost killed her with that very power. But now they were a real family...Though now that her family was getting stronger, her health was slowly starting to decline again. Damian wasn't to blame either...Jafar was seeming to haunt her, more so now than ever. She'd have nightmares and she knew they weren't real but gods they felt so real. Odette didn't want to tell John though...at least not right now. She knew he hated that she hid things from him but if he knew that Jafar was still causing problems, he'd never relax. It had taken her a few years just to calm him down from the ordeal of Damian's birth.

John snorted as Damien suddenly tripped in front of him and he gently used his claw to set him back onto his feet. Morgana was somewhere on his back and he let out a huff as she suddenly grabbed the scales closer to his neck. "Daddy...do you think I can be a dragon someday?" John blinked in surprise and glanced down at Damien who was staring up at him with wide eyes. It was clear to anyone who actually looked that Damien wasn't John's son. His coloring was darker, and his hair was black but John loved him every bit as much as he loved Morgana. "Perhaps one day...you might however be something completely different." He said as he lowered his head so it was eye level with Damian's. "Like what?" Damian asked as he rested his upper body on John's foreleg. "That's something you'll have to figure out as you get older." John said gently, knowing it probably wasn't the answer Damian had wanted.

Odette moved towards her little family with a grin on her face and knelt down next to Damian, slipping her arms around his tiny form. "Are you asking daddy to make you a dragon again?" She teased before she planted a kiss on his cheek. Morgana slid down John's arm and ran around his side before she jumped on Odette's back. "If Damian gets to be a dragon, I want to be one too!" She shouted and beamed up at John. Odette laughed and shifted so she could hold both of the children in her lap. "If we get two more little dragons in the family, we are going to need a bigger castle." Morgana giggled before she released her hold on Odette and grabbed a hold of Damian before they both ran out into the courtyard pretending to be dragons. Odette leaned back against John's large form and let her fingers thoughtfully run along his scales. As she watched the children play, something caught her attention off in the distance. A familiar form came around the corner before it disappeared as quickly as it had came. Suddenly the motion of her fingers on his scales stopped and Odette stared off into the distance, a little bit of color fading from her skin. "M-Morgana, can...can you take Damian inside please. It's almost time for your lessons." Morgana looked over as her mother spoke and pouted her lips. "Five more minutes?" She pleaded but Odette shook her head. "Now please." Her words came out a little forceful as she tried to keep her voice calm but it got Morgana to listen.

John watched as their children started to pretend they too were dragons, Odette's gentle touch on his scales made him smile a little. He blinked though as her motions stopped, and glanced over at her with a frown. She looked pale...and visibly shaken but what could have scared her so badly? He scanned the castle but didn't see anything out of the ordinary, "Odette...what did you see?" He asked as he glanced down at her. She wasn't looking at him, and that worried him...it was as if she could see something he couldn't. He stood up moving into a protective stance, his wings draped around Odette. "You saw something...what was it?" He asked her quietly, his eyes studying her curiously.

Once the children went inside, Odette felt herself relax a little bit though not completely. At John's words, she hesitated for a moment before she pushed herself to her feet beside him. "Probably nothing....but I could have sworn..." Her words slowed before she laughed nervously to herself and brushed the hair from her face. "It's impossible...but I..I thought I saw him...Jafar..." She whispered as she glanced back over to the area of the courtyard she had seen him. It couldn't have been real though...she had seen John kill Jafar. And there was no way of coming back from a death like that, there couldn't be. "I haven't been sleeping well lately...it may just be the lack of sleep. There's no way he could be here." Odette confessed before she sighed and looked away from him.

John felt himself bristle a little bit, she hadn't told him...yet again she had hidden things from him. Who knew how long this had really been going on...but it bothered him that even after all this time she still didn't trust him. He glanced over at her, "Jafar's dead Odette...his magic might linger but he's gone. There's no way he can come back...not unless someone raised him from the dead but who would?" He asked and then looked away from her. His tone had been gentle, he didn't want to let her know just how bothered he was by her continued inability to trust him. Had he not proved himself yet? Was she afraid of bothering him? "Besides if Jafar really did come back, I'd know....and so would Aurora." He said knowing Odette still didn't like her for whatever reason. Even though John had expressed that he'd never so much as touched Odette in a manner that would be considered too forward.
